If you’re new to me and my music, here’s what you need to know: what you’re about to hear across my streaming platforms is both current and past work. I’ve chosen to release my catalog in this way because it reflects my full journey—from my early days of rapping in 1999, to the mindset and style I have today.
I was raised in a musically gifted family—my mother was a theater actor, and my father a bass player in a band—so creativity was in my blood from the start. Originally from Danbury/New Haven, CT, I grew up surrounded by music, stories, and performance that shaped who I became as an artist.
I’m one half of the rap duo The E-N-J Legacy, alongside Sez1 Official. We formed back in high school in 1996, carrying that bond and energy through decades of music.
In 1999, while attending Job Corps in New Haven, I would often stop by my uncle Burn Mills’ 2nd Floor Production Studios on Steven St. That’s where me and Wiz-Dome (aka E.V.I., Evidence of Life) laid down our first and defining collaborative track, Silent Black Out. That song inspired the name of our duo, Silent Thugz, which we launched under Silent Thug Records. Silent Thugz eventually grew into the larger crew STCGP, and a few years later, Wiz’s stepbrother Mic Wirez (aka Dirty Whitey, now Stress Music) joined the fold, making the circle even stronger.
Rest in peace to our beloved brother Walter Solberg, aka Wiz-Dome—his spirit and influence will always live on through the music and the legacy we built together.
During this era, I was known as Mills Mega, building my reputation in CT’s underground rap scene. By 2000, I was being managed by my kids’ mother under Rich Stylz Ent./Black Storm Records, giving structure and momentum to my early solo grind.
In 2001, I expanded my circle again, joining the New Haven–based rap group Triple Crown, which consisted of Kamaal Shabbaz (aka Kama-Sutra), Diamond Tree, and myself Mills Mega (now Itsjustinmills). The group was signed to Family Room Records, a label out of Queens, NY, owned by Tye Casablanca and powered by producer L.O.B.
The network kept growing: I linked with Blaze Beat and Kitt, joining Fam Ent., which further expanded my larger affiliations and crew connections. Over time, the family tree of my music journey has only gotten bigger and more connected.
Through all of these chapters, you’ll hear conflicting styles, different mixes and qualities, shifts in mindset, and raw honesty. That’s intentional. Each song, whether polished or rough, represents a moment of truth in my life—the good, the bad, and the ugly. In the end, it’s all ART.
Now that you know the history, keep your ears open for Easter eggs hidden in the music—they reveal what was really going on in my life during those times. And stay tuned: a documentary is on the way to bring the full story to life.
Today, I release music under my label Dope Sick Fresh, LLC, and I also run the clothing and lifestyle brand RMNT CLTR. Both are extensions of my vision and my story.
